Heavy metal components have more inertia, requiring more force to accelerate and limiting the speed of motion systems. iNTECH’s cam followers, guide rollers and gears incorporate our PowerCore material, unlocking significant weight savings:

• By combining polymer-bearing surfaces with metal shafts and precision ball bearings, our cam followers weigh 40 percent less than all-metal cam followers of the same size. 
• The weight savings reduces inertia, which — combined with low rolling resistance — leads to a more efficient high-speed operation.
• When properly designed, our cam followers maintain full contact with the cam without any springs, simplifying design and avoiding cam surface wear.

Like many plastics, the PowerCore polymer offers inherent damping capabilities that metals don’t provide. Yet unlike plastics, its damping capabilities reach their maximum point close to typical operating temperatures of high-speed manufacturing lines.
